Local conditions
Local conditions to be attached to grants of approval of premises that are not religious premises:
- There should be adequate arrangements for disabled access.
- Either the approval holder or responsible person must provide the information contained in Appendix E or Appendix F attached to the approval to the couple when a marriage or civil partnership booking is made.
- The approved premises display sign must be displayed in a prominent position.
- There should be a separate room, distinct from where the wedding ceremony will take place, available for the Registrar to interview the couple prior to the ceremony.
- The holder of the permit should be able to ensure the provision of 2 car parking spaces for registration staff on days when weddings are taking place.
- An appropriate microphone system must be installed for the registrars to use which will allow all guests to hear the ceremony (if applicable).
- If any animals are to be involved in the ceremony, the Register Office must be made aware immediately by email: ceremonies@york.gov.uk.
